I'm Rosannah, I'm a Menstrual Cycle & Womb Practitioner and my work focuses on guiding women back home to their bodies, wombs, cycles and themselves.
I grew up in Lancaster, right next to Lancaster Castle - the place where the Pendle Witches were tried and executed. From being a very young child, I have always been fascinated by their story and the idea of witches.
I've often described my family as "witchy" and "alternative"...we definitely did things very differently to other people I knew. My family favoured natural remedies, homeopathy and herbalism...but I often dismissed this and kept it quiet or very hidden from everyone around me, out of fear of judgement and ridicule.
I spent most of my late teens and 20s, binge-drinking, partying and having a lot of fun but deep-down feeling very lost with extremely low self-esteem.
I worked in fast-paced, intense jobs and suffered from constant burnt out. It wasn't until 2022, when I received a hormone-positive breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 28 that my life changed and I really started to understand what the word 'witch' meant to me. I slowly began to question the status-quo, go within and reclaim many of the natural practices favoured by my family.
I took an "unconventional" path with my cancer treatment, declining many of the medical therapies offered to me (despite a lot of pressure from doctors) and I chose to take a holistic healing route.
What happened next is hard to put into words but I experienced a dark night of the soul and a big spiritual awakening. I realised how far removed the life I was living was from the life I truly desired and I unearthed a lot of emotional suppression, unprocessed grief and generational trauma (the suppression of my Romany Gypsy/Romanichal heritage) as the root causes of my cancer.
In the darkness and turmoil, I reconnected with my ancestors and gradually found the light. My lifelong love of art, creativity and nature were a saving grace during this time and this guided me to my mission and purpose. As I started to heal my mind, body and spirit, I connected the dots between years of debilitating period pain, PMDD and a breast cancer diagnosis...I began living more seasonally and cyclically - and I felt a deep calling to guide and support other women to do the same.
There were many pivotal moments. One of the biggest was a hypnotherapy session where I felt cancer leave my body. This awakened a stronger interest in energy and spiritual healing.
The past few years have been a wild roller coaster of finding my feet, quitting my 9-5 job, immersing myself in menstrual cycle awareness, womb healing, ancestral work and feminine wisdom, starting my own business and speaking my truth. Waking the Witch is a true heart and soul-led creation and I'm so excited to co-host this retreat with Lizzie.
I feel this calling deeply in my blood and in my bones - and I know the North of England (especially Lancashire!) is a very special place. It's so important to connect with the land around us, honour the history and folk practices of our ancestors and explore what was lost in the witch trials that swept across Europe for generations, where the vast majority of those persecuted were women.
I believe every woman has an inner witch but not every woman is brave enough to meet her. I trust that if you've read this far, then you're one of those who is ready to discover all of the magic and wisdom within!

I'm Lizzie, the owner and founder of Solara Wellness.
My story begins as a young child.
I was born with strong psychic abilities and intuition, sensing and seeing the world in ways I couldn’t understand.
Like many highly sensitive children, I learned to shut these gifts down by my early teenage years in order to fit into the “normal” world around me.
Everything changed in 2018. My gifts began to reawaken - powerfully, unmistakably and beyond my control.
I was seeing, sensing and hearing things beyond this realm. Life orchestrated a synchronistic encounter with a psychic, she delivered a message that shifted the entire trajectory for my life.
At the time, I was burnt out, overwhelmed, exhausted and had severe endometriosis which greatly impacted my life.
She told me I was living completely out of alignment with my true purpose, and that I was destined to be an energy healer, a psychic channel, and a guide to help others.
She guided me towards the first steps toward remembering who I truly was and to develop my gifts fully.
What followed was a deep devotion to my path. I committed to understanding and refining my abilities, undergoing formal psychic development, seership training, discernment training and strengthening five of my clair senses.
I trained as an Usui Reiki practitioner, which marked the beginning of a deeply transformative healing journey. Through this work, I learned to heal my body from endometriosis using my own
energy healing practices, by understanding the somatic and energetic links between disease and repressed emotions.
I came to recognise how unprocessed experiences were being held in my body and acting as the root cause of the
condition. I later began my journey as Reiki teacher, and initiating and teaching my students into wonderful healing capabilities of Reiki, by becoming a Triple Reiki Master Teacher, in Usui Reiki, Holy Fire Reiki and Karuna Reiki.
I went on to deepen my energy healing training by initiating into the ancient Egyptian lineage of Sekhem, becoming a Sekhem Master Practitioner.
Alongside this path, I undertook trauma-informed somatic training to ensure that the spiritual work I offer is safe, grounded, and integrative for my clients.
My journey has taken me across the world - from ancient temples to pilgrimages to sacred lands - where I’ve received initiations, activations, and teachings from esoteric mentors and the lands themselves.
Each experience deepened my connection to Spirit, to the earth, and to the purpose I now live fully: to hold space for others as they heal, awaken and reconnect with their own inner wisdom and divine light.
Today, Solara Wellness is the embodiment of that calling - a sanctuary in Levenshulme, South Manchester UK, where energy healing, channelled psychic guidance, ancient earth-based spiritual practices, sacred pilgrimages and wellness workshops weave together to support you in becoming who you were always meant to be.
I'm really looking forward to co-hosting this retreat with Rosannah and I can't wait to spend time with all of the other amazing women who are walking this path with us.

We begin our journey with your arrival at The Assheton Arms on Friday afternoon, giving you time to land and settle before Rosannah and Lizzie gather the group and bring everyone together for welcome refreshments and introductions.
Our first circle opens a warm space to meet one another, explore what the witch archetype means to you and reflect on the significance of Pendle Hill, its folklore and the famous 1612 witch trials.
We will also introduce the energy of Samhain (the ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter)...its symbolism, the turning of the wheel and an invitation to honour ancestors and step into personal transformation.
In the evening, we create a shared Samhain altar, before opening our sacred container with ceremony, offerings and cleansing rituals. This marks your full energetic arrival into the retreat. We will then return to the accommodation for a nourishing meal, you’ll unwind before an optional grounding yin yoga session with Georgia, helping your body to soften into the weekend.

Day 2 of the retreat is a deep Samhain immersion, moving through land, body and spirit to awaken intuition, release patterns and reconnect with your inner knowing.
We begin with breakfast before gathering at Downham Village Hall for grounding root meditation and breathwork, clearing the energetic field and opening intuitive channels for the day ahead.
We then head to the sculpture trail at the foot of Pendle Hill, walking the ancient landscape while weaving in folklore, history and the echoes of the witch trials held within it.
Through earth connection practices, we offer to the land, meet spirit allies and tune into what is ready to be released, gathering natural objects in preparation for the evening fire ceremony.
Returning for lunch, we then move into sound healing and energy work to clear blockages, soften fear of visibility and reconnect you to your intuitive truth.
The afternoon unfolds in a deep sharing circle with tarot and oracle guidance, offering reflection, insight and collective witnessing.
As night falls, we gather for the fire ceremony, releasing old beliefs, conditioning and emotional weight into the flames. Through invocation, song and speaking our truth, we call in ancestors, guides and goddesses.

Day 3 is a gentle closing chapter of the retreat, designed to help everything experienced over Samhain settle, integrate and take root within you.
We begin with breakfast followed by an optional breathwork and soft movement practice to support embodiment and reflection before checking out and gathering for our final day together at Downham Village Hall.
The morning is devoted to herbal craft, where you create ritual items such as candles and tea blends...working with intention so each piece becomes a tangible reminder of what you’re carrying forward.
After a shared lunch, we move into grimoire creation, a reflective DIY journal space to record insights, symbols and personal threads from the weekend into your own book of experience and meaning.
We close with a final sharing circle and ceremony, offering gratitude for the journey and gently closing the energetic container.
Through powerful practices and reflection, the retreat comes to an end, leaving you feeling clear, creatively inspired and more deeply connected to your inner witch as you return home.
