Take in the stunning surroundings of Pendle Hill, part of the Forest of Bowland (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) at a time when the seasons are shifting, winter is just beginning and there is a different energy in the air. Immerse yourself in local folklore and history ...and expect forests, pinecones, mist and moodiness.

An invitation to reflect on the legacies, gifts and challenges passed down from those who came before you. This is a meaningful time to deepen your sense of belonging and purpose by connecting with your ancestors as we create an ancestral altar and call in the ancestors who are here to help and guide you.

We begin our journey with your arrival at The Assheton Arms on Friday afternoon, giving you time to land and settle before Rosannah and Lizzie gather the group and bring everyone together for welcome refreshments and introductions.
Our first circle opens a warm space to meet one another, explore what the witch archetype means to you and reflect on the significance of Pendle Hill, its folklore and the famous 1612 witch trials.
We will also introduce the energy of Samhain (the ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter)...its symbolism, the turning of the wheel and an invitation to honour ancestors and step into personal transformation.
In the evening, we create a shared Samhain altar, before opening our sacred container with ceremony, offerings and cleansing rituals. This marks your full energetic arrival into the retreat. We will then return to the accommodation for a nourishing meal, you’ll unwind before an optional grounding yin yoga session with Georgia, helping your body to soften into the weekend.

Day 2 of the retreat is a deep Samhain immersion, moving through land, body and spirit to awaken intuition, release patterns and reconnect with your inner knowing.
We begin with breakfast before gathering at Downham Village Hall for grounding root meditation and breathwork, clearing the energetic field and opening intuitive channels for the day ahead.
We then head to the sculpture trail at the foot of Pendle Hill, walking the ancient landscape while weaving in folklore, history and the echoes of the witch trials held within it.
Through earth connection practices, we offer to the land, meet spirit allies and tune into what is ready to be released, gathering natural objects in preparation for the evening fire ceremony.
Returning for lunch, we then move into sound healing and energy work to clear blockages, soften fear of visibility and reconnect you to your intuitive truth.
The afternoon unfolds in a deep sharing circle with tarot and oracle guidance, offering reflection, insight and collective witnessing.
As night falls, we gather for the fire ceremony, releasing old beliefs, conditioning and emotional weight into the flames. Through invocation, song and speaking our truth, we call in ancestors, guides and goddesses.

Day 3 is a gentle closing chapter of the retreat, designed to help everything experienced over Samhain settle, integrate and take root within you.
We begin with breakfast followed by an optional breathwork and soft movement practice to support embodiment and reflection before checking out and gathering for our final day together at Downham Village Hall.
The morning is devoted to herbal craft, where you create ritual items such as candles and tea blends...working with intention so each piece becomes a tangible reminder of what you’re carrying forward.
After a shared lunch, we move into grimoire creation, a reflective DIY journal space to record insights, symbols and personal threads from the weekend into your own book of experience and meaning.
We close with a final sharing circle and ceremony, offering gratitude for the journey and gently closing the energetic container.
Through powerful practices and reflection, the retreat comes to an end, leaving you feeling clear, creatively inspired and more deeply connected to your inner witch as you return home.
